Caleigh Barnett
Singer, Actor, Writer, Musician
Caleigh Barnett has spent her whole life performing. She started voice lessons at the age of 7 and performed several times each year for over eight years. At age nine, she was playing the guitar and piano, in addition to singing, with The School of Rock in Marietta, GA, performing live shows several times a year. Later, she learned to play the violin in the middle school orchestra, a skill she inherited from her grandaddy; then, after moving to Southwest, VA, it morphed into “fiddle playing.” Caleigh performed at the “2021 Volunteer Jam, A Salute to Charlie Daniel’s”, tribute at Bridgestone Arena when she was 12, where she performed “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” alongside Chris Young and The Charlie Daniel’s Band. In 2019, Caleigh was chosen to perform “The Edge of Glory” with Atlanta Workshop Players at “The Tower of Talent,” a benefit for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at The Sandy Springs City Center. Most recently, Caleigh opened for and performed with bluegrass favorite Carson Peters & Iron Mountain at the Park Avenue Theater in Norton, VA. At this same location, she also opened for another bluegrass legend, Ralph Stanley II & The Clinch Mountain Boys. Caleigh has several upcoming shows performing as “Caleigh Barnett and Flatt Out Blue,” including Dr. Ralph Stanley’s “Hills of Home Festival” in Coeburn, VA, in May 2024 and “The Blue Highway Festival” in Big Stone Gap in October 2024. In addition to her musical talents, Caleigh has studied dance for eight years, acted in over 15 plays and films, and enjoys writing original songs, running track, playing softball, and working out. Caleigh, along with her family, founded “Giving Hope Southwest Virginia,” a food pantry catering to individuals requiring food assistance, located in Wise, VA. She and her family are also involved with “Shepherds Men- Share Military Initiative,” an organization that helps veterans affected by the hidden injuries of war. Caleigh is the current “Miss Southwest Virginia Teen USA 2024” and will compete for the “Miss Virginia Teen USA” title in June 2024.
